Classic Pontiac Cars were some of the baddest and biggest muscle cars on the block with Pontiac Fiero and Pontiac Parisienne at the head of the list. Pontiac was an automobile marque incorporated in the year 1926 as a companion make for General Motors’ Oakland. Pontiac was sold by General Motors in United States, Mexico and Canada and was marketed as a performance division of General Motors for couple of years specializing in performance and mainstream vehicles. It was relatively more famous in Canada, where much of the history was marketed as low-priced vehicle. General Motors announced that Pontiac brand will be discontinued by the end of 2010 and focus more on four core North American brands such as GMC, Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac. There are lots of cars produced and introduced by the company such as Bonneville which was ideal for big families and was one of the biggest family-friendly vehicles.

One of the most memorable Classic Pontiac Cars was Catalina launched in the year 1960 and powered by powerful 421-cubic inch V8 engine. Firebird was a Pontiac version of Sporty Chevrolet Camaro that generated 250 horsepower out of its V8 engine. One of the most famous vehicles of Pontiac was GTO that featured two-door compartment and classic split front-end grille design. It was considered as one of the best selling muscle cars from 1960s with its massive 421-cubic inch engine. However, there are lots of models manufactured and revealed by the company which include Trans AM that featured V8 engine, power steering and disc brakes, RAM Air III intake and camshaft, turbo Hydramatic transmission, 15-inch rally wheels with high-performance tires, mirror finish Cameo Ivory paint, unique rear and front spoilers and blue bucket seat interior.

Here are two more examples of Classic Pontiac Cars: Pontiac Fiero & Pontiac Parisienne.

Pontiac Fiero was a midengine sportscar powered by 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine with four-speed manual transmission and optional three-speed automatic transaxles and front suspension and brakes. Up front were Chevrolet Chevette brakes, steering and suspension. The major innovation was fully drivable space frame chassis structure to which various body Enduraflex plastic panels were attached.

The Pontiac Fiero was later upgraded by more powerful engine, five-speed Getrag transmission, revised rear flanks and GT-style chassis specs and appearance.

Pontiac Parisienne is a rear-wheel drive full size vehicle which was sold on General Motors’ B platform by Pontiac in Canada from 1958 till 1986. It was known to be one of the performance-focused models of Pontiac that features courtesy trunk lights and interior, availability of four and two-door convertibles and hardtops, bright trim mouldings in interior and distinct exterior accent chrome pieces.

The Pontiac Parisienne used the same transmission and engines like full-size Chevrolets including 250 and 230 cubic inch six-cylinder and 454, 283, 427, 307, 409, 327, 400, 350 and 396 cubic inch V8s. The right hand drive Laurentians and Parisiennes were manufactured and designed in Canada for export to other countries like Australia till 1969.

Classic Maserati Cars were some of the spacious luxury vehicles that provided ample of comfort, impressive performance and Italian styling. Maserati is an Italian automobile manufacturing company which was found in Bologna, Italy in the year 1914. The headquarters of Maserati is now located in Modena and is owned by Italian car giant named Fiat S.p.A. Initially, the company was associated with Ferrari and has recently become a part of Alfa Romeo. The vehicles manufactured and revealed by Maserati Company are available in several configurations and they range from open sportscars to voluptuous luxury sport sedans. Maserati was found by six brothers in 1914 called Ernesto, Carlo, Ettore, Bindo, Mario and Alfieri. Based in Italy, these brothers were racing aficionados and decided to craft racecars for private use. One of the truly powerful vehicles of the company was sleek Giugiaro-styled Ghibli powered by V8 330-horsepower engine. It was equipped with similar steering and suspension components, used in other Maserati vehicles.
