  • Old Sabra Car: Sabra Sport
    Old Sabra Car is an Israel automobile manufacturing company which was found in the year 1950s and the company initially assembled American automobiles in Haifa bay. The most popular and famous models manufactured and launched by the company are Sussita, Carmel and Gilboa which were produced in Greece. The company has also assembled British Triumph vehicles in 1960s such as Triumph 1300. In the year 1934, the company was purchased by Rom Carmel Industries and the owner of Sabra, Yitzhak Shubinsky was forced to resign. In the year 1974, company was renamed as Autocars Limited and their first production vehicle was equipped with fiberglass which became very popular and famous in Israel during 1960s and 70s.   • Sabra Cars History
    Sabra cars were produced by Autocars of Haifa, the first car manufacturer of Israel in the real sense. Before Autocars, Haifa bay and Kaiser Frazer models were available in Israeli market. However, both of them belong to the class of assembled cars and all of the parts of these models were manufactured by different American companies. There are two meaning of the Hebrew word Sabra. First one is born in Israel while the second one is cactus. Hence, it is not surprising that Sabra car models used cactus as their logo. Sabra cars were first launched in the year 1960 at New York’s Auto Show. Manufacturing and design of this small and under-power pick-up truck is surrounded with many stories and folklores.
